CAV Technology: Who is Doing What and How Do We Prepare?

Connected and Autonomous Vehicle (CAV) Technology is paradigm-shifting with the potential to provide safer and more efficiently managed roads. This presentation will provide an update of the State of Colorado in the continuum toward a future of ubiquitous autonomous vehicles. Colorado CAV implementation will be compared to CAV implementation by peer DOTs nationwide. In addition to providing an overview of Colorado CAV advances, the presentation will examine where the United States is in achieving readiness for broad-based autonomous vehicle deployment based on the widely accepted four pillars of readiness: Policy and Legislation, Technology and Innovation, Supporting Infrastructure, and Consumer Acceptance.
