Downtown Streets Guide - Workshops and Free TA Applications

Many Colorado communities experience competing interests on their Main Street, especially when that street is also a highway! The Colorado Department of Transportation, Department of Public Health and Environment, and the Department of Local Affairs are teaming up with Community Builders to offer FREE and INTERACTIVE workshops to communities interested in striking a balance among the many demands that face our downtown streets. Participants will learn how to communicate and work with state and local agencies, identify problems, consider solutions and get projects built to improve downtown.

A limited number of workshops are available and will be free to attend for anyone interested; however, communities must apply to be a host and receive additional support from the training team. The application deadline is March 1st, with workshops being held in April and May. Host communities are eligible to receive (1) a free technical assistance session with trainers following the workshop for your community to problem solve a key issue, and (2) funds to help cover costs of hosting. More information about the opportunity, along with the application, can be found HERE.
