Planning Commissioner Refresher Workshop

Attendees: Planning commissioners, elected officials, and local government staff in the region are welcome to attend.

Overview: Participate in a free workshop offered by the Colorado Department of Local Affairs that will provide a general overview of the responsibilities of planning commissioners, legal and ethical issues, and long-range planning and implementation. Attendees will have a chance to communicate about regional planning hot topics and share challenges and strategies. This will be a comprehensive introduction for new officials and commissioners, and a helpful refresher for experienced decision makers.

Topics: Responsibilities of elected officials and planning commissioners; Conducting meetings and decision-making; Legal and ethical issues; Elements of long-range planning; Developing, amending, and implementing long-range plans.
