Join us for a lively conversation about the term “modern.” What makes a building modern? Which modernist structures should be saved? What’s the difference between modern, contemporary, or just plain new? After a Modernism 101 talk, we’ll have a conversation with Adrian Kinney, specialist in midcentury modern real estate, and Brad Evans, who runs the Facebook page, Denver Fugly. Many thanks to our event sponsor, Sopra Communities, and our partner the Denver Architecture Foundation.

The purpose of the re:Denver forums is to provide an educational opportunity that engages those involved in planning and architecture-related professions as well as community residents in order to foster thoughtful and informed dialogue about the City. Forums are facilitated by professional preservationists, planners. Architects and academics. Guest speakers are selected for their technical expertise and knowledge of planning and design tools. The educational session lasts for 75 minutes, with formal presentations and audience engagement. Sign-in sheets are used to record and track attendance, and these sheets are administered by the staff and board members of Historic Denver, Inc.
