Hosted by: DRCOG
CM | 1 Approved (Event #: 9183756)

This webinar will feature presenters from DRCOG and RTD discussing the Active Transportation Plan and the First and Last Mile Strategic Plan, regional initiatives that seek to improve multimodal transportation options in the Denver region.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Learn about regional planning efforts to improve active transportation and first/last mile connections in the region
  2. Hear from experts about data collection and engagement efforts that contributed to the completion of these plans
  3. Discover key insights about TOD and active transportation systems in Denver, including transportation demand management strategies and partnerships

This webinar will highlight two recently adopted plans to improve walkability, bikeability, and transit access in the Denver region: DRCOG’s Active Transportation Plan and RTD’s First and Last Mile Strategic Plan. Attendees will learn about the planning processes, from data collection and existing conditions analysis through community engagement to the strategies and recommendations that will guide action and inform decisions in the future.

The activity will feature regional planners who have significant experience with transportation planning in many contexts and scales. Speakers will focus on inputs for their plans (e.g. community engagement and quantitative data), plan content, and how the plans will be implemented and impact future decision making in the region. Each speaker will have 15 minutes to present and attendees will have the opportunity to ask them questions about their practice or how lessons they’ve learned may apply to different kinds of planning scenarios.
