Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

Performs professional complex analytical, professional and technical work to achieve identified outcomes through high quality services. The position reports to the Community Development irector and primarily serves the Community Development Department, which includes public works, planning, engineering, and code enforcement functions. The position also works in close partner with other departments and directly with the City Manager, occasionally, to advance City Council and community goals.

KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides analysis and coordination for projects involving regionaltransportation issues, water planning and management, public worksdepartmental operations intergovernmental relations, State ofColorado Highway Department projects & funding, storm waterdrainage and flood control issues;
  • Provides support to the Public Works Director and department management staff to help develop and manage performance measures; assists with the development of the annual operating and capital budget; prepares staff reports for the City Manager, Board Commissions, and City Council; makes presentations and provides assistance to citizens regarding public works activities;
  • Provides support related to the City land development and economic development goals and objectives, including review of applications and preparation of reports and findings;
  • Conducts research into issues, concerns and problems related to the public works operations as well as the community development division.
  • Conducts studies in support of various department operations, analyze organizational structure, management techniques, internal procedures/processes and levels of service;
  • Assists the department director and management staff in assessing local needs and updates the strategic plan for the department, the City and the community;
  • Works closely with the Public Works Director, City Manager and City Council to develop long‐range plans to address community issues; coordinates processes to identify, clarify and resolve community issues;
  • Serve as City staff liaison to numerous regional boards, intergovernmental organizations and focus groups;
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of federal and state laws, local statutes ordinances, standards, procedures and trends related to a division’s functions and ensures their implementation

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position offers a highly competitive salary and benefits package. The salary range for the Management Analyst position is $61,000 ‐ $91,400/year and willbe commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and match with the desired attributes being sought by the City.
