Position Description
The Multimodal Transportation Planner is located in the Multimodal Division which includes eight planning professionals. This is a supervisory position managing at least one and up to three staff in the division. This position will serve as a project manager for large-scale, complex, multiagency projects. Projects will cover disciplines in transit, bicycle, pedestrian, transportation demand management (TDM), capital projects and emerging transportation technologies.

3. Ability to manage long-term, complicated programs and projects. This includes staying on schedule and within budget. Ability to recognize and leverage new staffing and funding opportunities to enhance projects.
4. Ability to work independently to find creative solutions to problems.
5. Proven ability to manage third party consulting teams including deliverable and budget management.
6. Prior experience in transportation planning including transit service development and transit fare program administration.
7. Prior experience in bicycle facility design and implementation.
8. Positive attitude.
Example Duties
1. Development and management of transportation programs and projects that enhance regional mobility.
2. Management of TDM projects to increase non-SOV mode share in Boulder County.
3. Participation in the development of internal and external transportation planning documents including transportation master plans, Bus Rapid Transit studies, multimodal corridor studies, active transportation plans, transit circulator studies and First and Final Mile plans.
4. Analysis of current and proposed RTD service hours, routes, fare structures and annual budgets.
5. Inventory and mapping of county bicycle and pedestrian facilities. Development of non-motorized capital improvement plans and other programs to increase the ease and safety of walking and biking in the county.
6. Supervision of up to three planning professionals in the Multimodal Division.
7. Program support for other members of the Multimodal Division.
8. Other duties as assigned.
