Senior Planner

Community Development, Planning Division

 

The Town of Estes Park is now accepting applications for a full-time Senior Planner.  This position performs professional planning work, including working with the public, design professionals, contractors, homeowners, business owners, other staff and elected and appointed officials.

 

The Senior Planner position entails both long-range and current planning responsibilities. Particular experience and skills include development code analysis and code writing, as the department is engaged in a multi-year task to extensively revise the Estes Valley Development Code. Skills and expertise in housing planning are also desirable, including developing a housing strategic plan, administering housing policy, and creating and administering workforce housing guidelines in collaboration with other public and private community stakeholders.

 

This position requires accuracy and completeness of tasks, extensive customer service skills, and considerable exercise of independent judgment. Work also includes public outreach, presentations to a variety of groups, policy analysis and development, project management, and performance of long range planning activities.

 

The hiring range for this position is $2,511.81 - $3,076.96 bi-weekly (DOE) which is equivalent to an annual salary of $65,307 to $80,001.  This position is exempt per FLSA.  Benefits include retirement, medical (employee and children only), dental (family), vision (family), life insurance, and vacation. American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) Certification must be obtained within six months of date of hire.
