The APA Student (APAS) chapter at the University of Colorado Denver has a mission to provide Masters of Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) students with a variety of opportunities to influence and further the development of their careers through engagement with their peers, faculty, alumni, the University, planning professionals and our Colorado community.
Our vision for the 2016-2017 academic year is to, facilitate student engagement by streamlining and strengthening communication outlets, provide MURP students with a variety of career development opportunities, and to continue fostering relationships in the planning community at the University and beyond, and to continue to improve the student experience for current and future UC Denver MURP students.
APAS will host monthly meetings on-campus, social and networking events, facilitate a job shadowing program and technical skills workshops as ways to create community within the MURP program as well as with the greater planning community. Additionally, Roxanne Borzo Bertrand is your APAS APA CO Representative and should be used a resource for all MURP students. Roxanne sits on both the APA CO Board and the APAS Board acting as the liaison between the student and professional planning groups, keeping both informed about the other. Roxanne is a second year MURP student who got involved with APAS with a goal of increasing student participation and implementing programming to help students further explore the planning profession. Please feel free to contact Roxanne with any questions, comments, and/or suggestions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The entire APAS board looks forward to working together and having fun this upcoming academic year!
All the best,
