Our Summer 2016 Planning Matters brings a focus on healthy communities. Planning has a long-standing relationship to public health, dating back to the 19th Century reservation of land for parks and open space.
Welcome to the Fall Edition of Planning Matters. In this issue we showcase the 2014 Colorado Chapter Planning Awards. These awards were first presented at our State Conference in Crested Butte this past October. The conference itself was a great success, showcasing some of the best work that planners are doing across the state. The awards represent what the review committee found to be some of the best efforts of planners and local governments in translating a community vision into action. Understandably, the selection was difficult because some many fine projects were submitted.
Susan Wood, AICP and APA CO Chapter President
Soon my tenure as APA Colorado Chapter President will come to an end and while this is somewhat bittersweet, I have been so very fortunate to work with a dedicated and tireless Executive Board and with Shelia Booth who has made all our accomplishments happen.
