FREE Webinar
Reducing Colorado's Risk to Geologic and Soil Hazards
April 18 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.
Logan Sand (DOLA), Jill Carlson (Colorado Geological Survey), and Peter Wysocki (City of Colorado Springs)
Join us to learn about how geologic and soil hazards impact many Colorado communities and how local governments can plan for these types of hazards. Two key questions that will be answered are: how do you assess and mitigate your community’s risk to hazards like landslides, rock falls, debris flows, and expansive soils, and what land use tools and resources are available to planners looking to take action? This webinar will provide planners the opportunity to learn about geologic and soil hazard mitigation in Colorado, services available for local planners, and the Colorado Geological Survey’s Land Use Review Program and process. Participants will also hear from the City of Colorado Springs about efforts to plan for geologic risk, including, the development and adoption of a recent landslide ordinance.
