The 2021 Legislative Session has been exciting and is nearly over. We’ve tracked over 40 bills and taken positions on many of them. We’ve also focused on developing relationships with our state and even national legislators and will be continuing to build on those connections over the summer and fall with tours to showcase successes and advocate for policies and funding to address our current and future needs.
Of our 5 legislative priorities (affordable housing, climate change and energy planning, water conservation and planning, economic development, and transportation), we have seen legislation related to each priority. While the session is nearly over, there are still some important bills that are in the legislature so this last week or two will be exciting. Senate Bill 21-260 (Sustainability of the Transportation System) has passed the Senate and is in the House. Urge your Representative to take action on this bill: https://www.votervoice.net/PLANNING/campaigns/85284/respond
Join us for our legislative wrap-up meeting on June 11th (see the APA Colorado event calendar for meeting details) to learn more about what happened in the session and how you can participate with us in preparation for next year.
