What is PIC?

Planning Institute of Colorado (PIC), is a non-profit organization affiliated with the American Planning Association Colorado Chapter.

In 2006 the American Planning Association Colorado Chapter commenced an ambitious task of creating an education tool allied professionals on the basics of land use, urban and small town planning. Using the Van Education Center, APA Colorado established an online classroom full of insightful and educational online courses to instruct the laypeople and professionals alike on topics on a wide range of planning topics. Since that time twelve courses have been made available. Individuals satisfactorily completing the three core courses and at least eight elective courses are eligible for PIC Certification. PIC certification enables the holder of the certificate to use the initials P.I.C. after their name, signifying satisfactory completion of the courses and a basic understanding of the concepts used in land use planning.
