Stability & Change in Fort Collins’ University Neighborhoods

The West Central Area Plan was a community-driven and highly collaborative plan for
the neighborhoods directly adjacent to Colorado State University in Fort Collins – an aging area facing
increased pressure from student housing development, the growth of the university, and the impacts of significant infill and redevelopment in recent years.

Community Driven Master Plan Process Honors Legacy of Parks and Points to a Sustainable Future

The City of Colorado Springs has a rich legacy of Parks and natural areas. In 2010, the City faced drastic budget cuts that slashed park services and jeopardized this legacy. In response to community outcry over loss of services and a desire to restore a tarnished legacy, the City engaged in a comprehensive Master Plan Process to set a course for a sustainable future.

Plans Over Crayons: Historic Preservation Engages the Community

Through a creative, multi-platform community engagement process, the City of Louisville adopted its first city-wide Preservation Master Plan to guide the next 20 years of the unique, incentive-based program.
