Adams County Making Connections

The objectives of the Adams County Making Connections Planning and Implementation Plan were to review more than 188 identified projects in 85 previously adopted plans by various entities, identify a Top 40 list (mobility and utility infrastructure, policy/program, and development areas), and then implement the Top 10 from 2017 through 2027.

Building Community Resiliency through Buyout Program

In September, 2013 an historic rain event produced flood waters that severely impacted all of Boulder County, displacing thousands of residents. Unique topography complicated recovery efforts. Due to President Obama’s national disaster declaration, the Flood Recovery Buyout Program was able to form to create greater long-term community resiliency.

Outreach Tactics: Tactical Urbanism Strategies as a Community Engagement Tool

How can designers use tactical urbanism to reach a wide and targeted audience in public work? In the small mountain community of Avon, Colorado, tactical urbanism strategies do just that. The project approach shifts tactical urbanism efforts from the typical seeding of advocacy projects to promoting and testing design ideas as an immersive public engagement tool.
